Gurnee Trip

Sorry I haven't posted in over a month. Nothing special has happened. Except of course me and Gabe's trip to Gurnee, IL (Oct.2-Oct 16th). Erik was in Tuscon doing rotations so we thought it would be a good time to visit my parents. Gabe and I had so much fun! Here are a ton of pics from the trip.

I tried to get some fall pics of Gabe. He was cooperative until my mom decided to put a wreath on him!
I love this pic because it shows how much he is starting to look like Erik.

Totally random...me in a wig. Not bad, huh?
Gabe being cute:

We had fun putting all these necklaces on Gabe!
Gabe is obsessed with phones and remotes. He has both in his hands here. Needless to say, he is quite happy!

We loved that it was cool enough to go to the park. Gabe is obsessed with the swings!

Gabe didn't want to be in the picture!
Gabe had fun in Gurnee. Here are some other random pics of Gabe and his cute self:

Aww, I love him!!
What a cute face!
Gabie loved the kitties. He especially loved tackling them to the ground and laying on them and then trying to pull all their limbs off their bodies. Poor kitties.
Gabe just being cute!

As if the kitties didn't have enough torture, we dressed them up in their costumes!
My aunt came over. Here are some pics of her and my mom being goofy:
Wigs!
My mom and I took Gabe to a trick-or-treat walk through the last night we were there. We bought this cute lion costume for only $10! The line was too long but Gabe sure had fun, once he figured out he was getting candy!

My friend Linda and her boys came over to visit just before we left. Here are some cute pics:

Adorable Videos of Gabe

My musical genius
End of August
I'm training Gabe very early to be a little pianist! I'll ask him where A above middle C is, and he'll point to it...or at least to a note next to it. That's my boy!

Doggy
End of August
We dog-sat for some friends and Gabe had a blast throwing balls to the dog!

Giggles
Beginning of Sept.
Doesn't he have the cutest laugh?!

Yum Yum!
Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 5th)
Gabe thinks watermelon rinds are yummy. I have no idea what he was doing towards the end here!

Yeah!!!
Labor Day Weekend.
Gabe was super giggly during our game of Yahtzee!

Another cute video of Gabe playing Yahtzee.

Bubbles!!

Splash, splash!

Splashing in the pool with Kade

Oh, no!
Sept. 13th
Gabe learned "no" the other weekend. He thinks it is a hilarious word to say. I'm not so sure he understands the meaning yet!

So Smart!
Sept. 13th
We are teaching Gabe his shapes and animals. So far, so good!

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor day Erik's parents came by for a visit. We love having them come visit, especially Gabe!

Saturday we went out to eat a a BBQ place in Gilbert and then Erik and I got to go to the temple while his parents watched Gabe.

Then we all went to Freestone park and let Gabe ride some of the rides there. He wasn't quite sure what to think!

Gabe got spoiled with lots of presents, as usual. Here's Gabe modeling his new PJ's and new shirt.
He even got a new pool!
Gabe loves Grandpa.

Sunday lunch. Gabe thought the watermelon rinds were yummy. He also liked dipping them in ketchup!

We all played Yahtzee Sunday night. Gabe had a blast. He must have been overly tired because he thought everything was hilarious! He's such a cute boy; I love it when he laughs!

Over the weekend, Gabe learned how to nod his head and say "yes" and shake his head and say "no". I'm not convinced he actually knows the meaning of the words; he just likes saying them!

Crafty, But Not Cunning...

Here are my latest creations! Gabe is a good snoozer so I thankfully have time to work on projects that are fun for me.

Here is the first project I have ever made for my house; a welcome sign. I made it with jewelry wire, and luckily it didn't take too long to make. I think it turned out okay, but I don't like the way it hangs. I couldn't bend it all from one piece of wire, so it sits wierd where the letters are connected. Also it is practially invisible from the street!

This next project I LOVE, but it was a pain to make (it's hard to keep all those chains in place!). I especially love the beads I used. They are hot pink cracked glass beads, which I picked up at Walmart of all places!

This is my latest necklace. I like it because it is fun and funky. I don't like it because it doesn't match with very many outfits and the top row of beads keep flipping backward and driving me crazy!

This next project (a coupon purse): WOW. I have been working on it since February. I think I was a bit insane when I started this, and if I wasn't then, then I sure am now! I've never done bead embroidery like this before and I don't think I ever will again! It was so tedious and slow working. I would put it away for months because I couldn't stand working on it! But I normally like to finish what I start, and I'm glad I did. I think it turned out wonderful! Once the beading part was done, it took me maybe an hour or so to sew it together (SUPER easy to make one of these, click here). I'm also glad I decided to put a vinyl covering over it so the beading wouldn't get snagged on anything (though I wish I would have picked out a less sticky vinyl, if there is such a thing).

This next project I am currently working on won't be done for another 17 years or so. Of course I can't take full credit for making this cute, amazing, wonderful boy because Erik helped a lot too. Thanks Erik! I call this project Gabe and he's coming along just perfect, in fact, better than I thought! Definitely my most beautiful project ever, don't you think?

XOXO We love him! XOXO
