Gabe at the Park

I love living in Arizona! Especially during the wintertime. The weather is just perfect to take Gabriel to the park. Here's a cute video of Gabe on the swing.

Okay this post is for the family and if you are not an immediate family member you probably won't think it is as hilarious as I do (feel free to watch though!). I'm not going to say to much about it...it speaks for itself. LOL!!!

Erik Update

So most of this blog has been about Gabriel. And me---me getting excited over something Gabriel did. Anyway, I just thought I should devote a post for once about my #1 love-- Erik!

Erik is currently in his second year of med school at Midwestern University and doing so well! He studies A LOT but always makes time for me and Gabe. This is my blog and I'll brag if I want to...he's getting straight A's (so far) and was in the top 10% of his class last year. Go Erik! Besides going to school full time and studying like crazy, Erik works in a lab after school, mutating the DNA of fruit flies. Fun stuff. He's also the treasurer of the Anesthesia club-he plans on going into anesthesia after he graduates.

That's about it for Erik. Med school pretty much consumes his life. Poor guy. I'm so glad to have such a good husband. Erik is also such a good dad to Gabe!

Gabe Update

Gabriel is finally sleeping through the night--a straight 9 hours without waking up! It's about time too...he's almost 10 months old already! Such a relief for all of us!

Gabe is getting so big. He pulls himself up every chance he gets. He is is a very sweet, silly and smart boy. He's learning and growing (21 lbs already!) so fast--we love Gabe!

Gabe's Birthday Party Preview!

I know I'm a total dork for posting this and for getting so excited about it...but Gabe's 1st birthday is in just two months! I am already preparing for his little party. I've decided that it will be duck-themed b/c one of his first (and favorite) toys was a duck--plus he just seems to have a lot of duck-related items, lol.

I found the duck cake pan @ Joanne's and used a 50% off coupon b/c those shaped cake pans are expensive! I'll have to try it out before Gabe's party so it won't be a disaster.

I made the little outfit . I found the pattern at a thrift store for like 60 cents. This was probably the easiest, fastest, cutest and cheapest sewing projects I've ever done! I'm definitly going to make him some more little outfits like this. It only takes a yard of fabric and it's really fun to pick out the matching buttons and appliques. Plus I can get it finished in a single day.

I'm having way too much fun with this, I know!

First Haircut!

Here are some pics of Gabe's first haircut. It wasn't much of a haircut-I just chopped up the hair that was growing over his ears and some in the back because it was bugging me.

Duh!

Okay so I'm can be really dumb sometimes its true...well, in this case, ignorant. The last 4 months or so Gabe had refused his pacifiers and would only suck on our fingers. The only way we could get Gabe to calm down when he was upset was to stick my pinky in his mouth (don't worry...I washed my hands). I just figured he didn't like pacifiers. Well...turns out the pacifiers we had were infant pacifiers...too small for his mouth which was why he rejected them. They make pacifiers for older babies. DUH. Why didn't I realize that before? I bought Gabe some new, bigger pacifiers and it's been a life saver. Life is much easier, especially during diaper changes!
